FRACTURES

Fractures vary from simple to complex. Fractures can present with pain, swelling and decreased mobility and function. Most fractures are diagnosed with an X ray, although in rare cases

Once a diagnosis of fracture is made, your Doctor performs a series of manoeuvres to put the fractured bones in the correct place.

This is then followed by immobilization.

Immobilization can be done with regular plaster of paris. Drawback of plaster of Paris especially for the leg is it does not support full weight bearing

Once on a synthetic plaster you can move around the house and even go to work, all while the fractures heals inside.

Gone are the days when you had to take bed rest to heal the fracture.

Your doctor also prescribes medications to make the ligament heal faster and better !

Ask your Doctor about lightweight synthetic plasters that support full weight bearing

Ligament Injuries

Ligament injuries behave slightly differently from fractures. For low grade ligament injuries, rest immobilization and elevation with medicines may do the job.

However in case of higher grade ligament injuries, a plaster of paris slab or a walking synthetic plaster may be needed.
